Winter Glory

Moving into the wonderful winter fruit. This is the delightful Japanese Fuyu Persimmon. I love the combination of colors that make up this watercolor. I tested and tested on smaller sizes until I had the color just where I wanted. Working on this was so uplifting and pleasurable. I hope everyone looking at them find them pleasing as well.

Gentle World

Here I am again back in the world of butterflies. I love painting these delicate creatures as it allows me to experiment with color and lines. It is a simple design as I wanted them to float on a white background and I let the paint choose its own route giving them the appearance of being tethered to their world. I have decided to do more of these in the future as it's a wonderful way to experiment with color and design.

Natures Joy

Have you ever just imagined yourself sitting by a stream daydreaming and taking in all the wonders of nature...... what a wonderful place to be in our minds, so peaceful. That is just where I was when I painted this very loose interpretation of Autumn. It was a new venture for me as I am a very tight watercolorist. But I had such fun that I am going to do more of this spontaneous painting. Feelings are important and I feel really good about this process.

Delicate Beings

I have always loved to watch these gentle beings in flight as well as perched upon a leaf. They are such a wonderful part of nature. This was a great experience in floating the boarder with watercolor and randomly dropping in the bits of rice paper to achieve the old frame affect. Nature has such wonderful painting opportunities life is not long enough to capture all the wonders but I am going to try.

Expression

Piet Mondrian and his approach to the world of color and abstraction prompted this design. The design process was challenging and rewarding .

Special Event

The inspiration for this watercolor came from a wonderful evening last holiday season. The arrangement was done by a friend who seems to be capable of creating the perfect evening. I so enjoyed the challenge this delicate flower presented.

Juicy Fruit

I enjoy fruit at all times but especially when they are in season and full of color. This is a juicy tangerine and it was wonderful to paint and eat. I enjoyed both and I hope you do too.
This painting is called "Juicy Fruit" and is a 9x12 watercolor.

Kissed by Nature

This was a wonderful observation of how nature colors and structures plants. I loved, the flow of the leaves and and the changing of the colors, as nature kissed each leaf.
